General Position Summary

This is an exempt position responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Company's warehouse operation in Erlanger, KY. Work activities include reporting to the Assistant Vice President and providing day-to-day supervision of all shipping and receiving activities. In addition, this position handles documentation related to imports and exports. This is a first shift position.

Essential Warehouse Supervisor Job Functions

Supervisory

· Responsible for supervising 10-15 warehouse associates, including clerks and team leaders.

· Responsible for daily supervision of all warehouse activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Supervises and delegates work assignments. Monitors and reviews work activities through daily observation and daily audits. Consults with management as needed.

· Monitors and reviews employees' work activities through individual meetings and group meetings to ensure that all work activities are proceeding smoothly to plan.

· Communicates and coordinates information both in writing and orally on a regular basis with both management and staff. May, at times, share information with customers and/or external consultants working on behalf of the Company.

· Responsible for monitoring and tracking the training of new associates. Responsible for keeping proper training records for each employee.

· Responsible for monitoring and tracking each associate's KPI and quality target.

· Motivates, develops, and mentors employees for improved performance. Holds associates and team leads accountable for items out of standard.

· Should understand all warehouse procedures and may be required to assist on the floor during periods of peak demand or to fill in for absences.

· Supervises and controls daily warehouse activities including cycle counts, equipment maintenance, safety, and problem solving as needed.

· Ensures audit procedures are followed and complete for all shipping and receiving.

· Responsible for ensuring all associates are trained in safety policies and procedures and ensuring the adherence to these policies and procedures.

· Responsible for tracking and reporting time and attendance in Paylocity.

Warehouse Coordination

· Supervises and controls daily warehouse activities including checking shipping packing list, spot checks and inventory counts, expediting urgent parts, processing equipment packing list, and problem solving as needed. Consults with AVP as needed.

· Arranges shipments from warehouse as directed, including providing instruction to warehouse staff.

· Works with management to develop improvements in production and safety procedures, proper strapping, etc.

Administrative Support

· Assembles materials from files and records for use in preparing reports, answering correspondence and inquiries, carrying out various office functions.

· Receives calls and responds to inquiries.

· Helps other employees with various tasks, i.e. supports accounting typing letters, gathering information, etc.

Miscellaneous & Other

· Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.

· Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

· Follows up to complete any assigned work.

· Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.

· Reports all irregular issues and problems to supervisor for solution.

· Maintains good communication with supervisors, staff members and outside contacts.

· Complies with all company policies and procedures.

· Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.

Associates degree or up to two years of college or equivalent experience. Three to five years of related experience which includes supervising in a warehouse setting. Must be certified to operate a forklift. Hazardous Materials Training Certificate may be required. Experience with general office equipment including phones, computers, copier, etc. Experience with Microsoft Office. A strong candidate for this position would demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, customer service, and dependability.
