What You'll Do:

 

As a Safety Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by  providing the technical support in the implementation of the facility’s safety, environmental and Responsible Care® programs and initiatives to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and corporate and industry standards consistent with Lubrizol’s Corporate Philosophy, and Health, Safety, Environment and Security policy . The Safety Coordinator is also repsonsible for  assisting in the implementation of programs and initiatives in environmental compliance and management and RCMS/ISO programs. 

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Assist with the implementation of environmental programs and initiatives in support of the facility’s compliance programs, Responsible Care Management System, and facility and corporate goals.
  • Work on focused projects and initiatives as directed.
  • Complete structured assignments in a thorough and professional manner.
  • Provide the leadership necessary to support the environmental initiative throughout the entire organization.
  • Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
  • Review existing policies and procedures.
  • Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety.
  • Conduct risk assessment.
  • Enforce preventative measures.
  • Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations.
  • Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
  • Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

  • 3+ years of work experience preferably in a chemical plant.
  • B.S. in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently.
  • Ability to work successfully with internal customers in a professional manner .
