We are currently hiring in our Biology group.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sample preparation and analyte extraction for chemical/biochemical analysis
• Set-up and run biochemistry assays to detect contaminant compounds and determine levels of various target molecules
• Perform various microbiological techniques including culturing, streaking and membrane filtration
• DNA and RNA extraction from various samples types (food, water, sponges, etc.) for downstream PCR analysis
• Sample preparation for microbiological analysis and analyte extraction for chemical/biochemical analysis
• Identify various micro-organisms through the use of selective media, chromogenic indicators, and morphology
• Perform method validations and optimize method performance for new sample matrices, high-throughput applications, repeatability, etc.
• Perform wet chemistry analyses such as assays, titrations, and analyte extractions on various sample matrices
• Opportunity to work in several independent research groups
• Collection and analysis of experiment data
• Literature research and troubleshooting
• Media/Reagent Preparation and QC

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a BS in Biology or related disciplines, MS is preferred
• 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience excluding coursework
• Industry lab experience is a plus
• Must have working knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory skills
• Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well both within a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
• Strong troubleshooting skills and able to apply scientific concepts using independent judgement and discretion
