Job Description

Description: Position Title: Medical Assistant - Wellness Clinic Park Springs Benefits: 401(k) matching, Dental insurance, Health insurance, Vision insurance and Paid time off (PTO). Shift: 8-hour shift 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Weekly day range: Monday to Friday GENERAL SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant will oversee the daily book keeping and record keeping. They will also assist with communication of relaying/receiving pertinent information from the members. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and communication skills. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Schedule and maintain a member appointment log, detailing the reason for the visit. Document scheduled labs. Schedule follow-up appointments. Keep members informed of lab results and hydration needs. Audit billing codes for back office. Maintain refrigerator/freezer temps and daily log. Deliver lab letters to member's internal mailboxes. Obtain member vitals upon visit and update the Medication list in Health Fusion. Perform Covid testing when needed. Maintain clinic email/voicemail. Upload emergency call sheets to Health Fusion. Document your IL ER. Response call sheets as encounters with Health Fusion. Maintain monthly AED checks and document the checks. Maintain weekly glucometer checks and document the checks. Ensure drawn labs are spun, tubed, labeled, and bagged. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES. Answer the emergency phone calls and go to the emergency house calls. Ability to safely and accurately perform phlebotomy and urinalysis. Ability to accurately perform an EKG. Ability and knowledge to accurately obtain vital signs. Ability to safely and accurately administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections. Appointment scheduling. Answering phones. Computer literacy. Positive and professional demeanor. Experience with geriatric demographics is a plus. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree in a medical field preferred. Pass a minimum of one exam from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. 2+ years of working in the healthcare field. Strong verbal and written skills. Superior customer service skills. A high level of professionalism. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: This job may require lifting objects weighing up to 20 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: Pushing and/or pulling, Stooping and/or kneeling, Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
