Job Description

Traveling Assistant Project Manager – Industrial MEP

Location: Nashville, TN

Primary Function:

Support and assist in managing MEP field projects , ensuring smooth execution and coordination of one large-scale project or multiple smaller projects . Provide administrative, technical, and logistical support to project managers to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and staffing key field positions in coordination with project leadership.
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, and documentation , ensuring adherence to project objectives and corporate guidelines.
  • Act as a liaison between project managers, field teams, clients, and subcontractors to facilitate communication and coordination.
  • Monitor and track construction progress , assisting the on-site superintendent in maintaining schedules and budgets.
  • Identify and report potential project risks , assisting in implementing corrective measures.
  • Attend project meetings, take detailed notes, and support project reporting and documentation .
  • Assist in managing financial aspects of contracts , including tracking expenses, rental equipment, and invoice processing.
  • Help maintain strong client relationships by ensuring timely responses and project updates.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by project managers and corporate leadership .

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in MEP construction, project coordination, or field support .
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction projects .
  • Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration .
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical documents .
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills .
  • Ability to multitask and support multiple projects simultaneously .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software .
  • Willingness to travel based on project assignments.
