Job Title & Role Description:

The Clinical Training & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for our clinical staff at Upward Health. This includes a wide range of training formats, such as instructor-led, web-based, and virtual classroom settings. The specialist will work closely with leadership and subject matter experts to ensure that all clinical roles, including RNs, Care Specialists, Medical Assistants (MAs), LICSWs, FNPs, and Medical Directors, are well-trained, supported, and compliant with regulations. The Clinical T&D Specialist will play a key role in improving clinical staff effectiveness and ensuring that training programs align with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.

Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of clinical operations, healthcare regulations, and patient care best practices.
  • Experience in designing and developing training content and programs for clinical staff including RNs, Care Specialists, MAs, LICSWs, FNPs, and Medical Directors.
  • Knowledge of chronic care management, population health, and value-based care preferred.
  • Skilled in delivering training across various platforms, including in-person, web-based, and remote.
  • Willingness to travel (10% of total working time) to Upward Health markets to deliver training as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies to develop effective and engaging training programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.
  • Previous experience managing a Learning Management Systems (LMS), knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus.
  • Experience facilitating clinical systems training, knowledge of Athena and Salesforce a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and adapt training materials to address evolving needs and feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, education, or a related field required.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in clinical training and development with content development experience required.

  • Ensures that training programs comply with all relevant federal and state regulations, payer requirements, and service definitions.

  • Strong ability to integrate various technological tools, such as LMS and internal systems (Salesforce, Athena), into the training process.

  • Capable of clearly communicating training content and engaging effectively with clinical and non-clinical teams.

Project Management:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
