Project Engineer - Civil

Chicagoland Area – Fully Onsite

$95–130K (Depending on Experience) – Full Time with Benefits

Chin) is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer - Civil to join our Design group working on projects in the aviation and public transportation sector. The ideal candidate is highly effective at communicating, self-organization, and willing to learn in a supportive team environment.

Job Duties :

• Performing a variety of engineering tasks to assist the production of plans, specifications, reports, diagrams and engineering documents under the supervision of other engineers and supervisors.
• Design and prepare engineering drawings using MicroStation/AutoCAD Civil 3D for aviation/transportation projects (highways, large arterials, streets, interchanges and intersections, pedestrian facilities, runways and taxiways.)
• Perform quantity and cost estimate calculations.
• Prepare construction specifications.
• Work closely with other team members on multi-discipline large transportation infrastructure projects.
• Manage project teams, accountable for budget and schedule.
• Mentor junior staff.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• The qualified candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in civil/aviation/transportation design.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE) and wanting to pursue their Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Proficient in Bentley Suite products (Microstation/GeoPak/PowerCivil/InRoads/OpenRoads Designer).
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficient in Microsoft suite products (Excel, Word)
• Experience on aviation and roadway design and plan preparation for IDOT, ISTHA, CDOT, and CDA preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in construction a plus.
• Experience in permitting and utility coordination a plus.
