Job Description

Objective:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to lead our sales, marketing, and business development efforts and reports directly to the CEO. This is a senior executive role that will shape revenue strategy, scale our A&R (sales) operations, and drive marketing innovation. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will oversee revenue growth, client acquisition, and brand expansion in an evolving music and merchandise. Manhead is a premier music merchandise company that has experienced 3x growth in the past three years. We partner with some of the biggest names in music to scale revenue through innovative merchandise, marketing, and direct-to-fan engagement landscape.

Responsibilities:

Business Development and A&R :

• Oversee the Artist Relations (sales) department to ensure Manhead remains a leading competitor in acquiring new clients through strategic negotiation and contract execution.

• Lead a team of three A&R Vice Presidents to maintain a top-quality pipeline, ensuring successful client onboarding and ongoing relationship management.

• Optimize the implementation of Manhead’s CRM system, HubSpot, to drive efficiency and sales growth.

• Mentor the A&R team, maintaining a high-performance culture through daily support and strategic guidance.

• Identify new business opportunities and create strategies to increase revenue while maintaining strong client, partner, and stakeholder relationships.

• Negotiate effectively within the market to maximize growth and profitability, collaborating with peers to finalize deal details.

• Drive innovation in market share growth, revenue, and profitability strategies.

• Approve tour settlements from an Artist Relations perspective and collaborate with the COO on the “client drop list.”

Marketing Strategy and Execution:

• Own end-to-end marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and artist brand positioning to scale Manhead’s brand presence, optimize digital marketing efforts, and drive revenue growth.

• Lead marketing initiatives to support artists, enhancing their brand visibility, audience engagement, and merchandise sales through innovative campaigns.

• Oversee internal marketing operations, including social media, content marketing, email campaigns, and performance analytics.

• Collaborate with A&R and product teams to ensure cohesive branding and marketing alignment across all platforms.

• Leverage data analytics to inform marketing strategies, optimizing campaign performance and audience targeting.

• Build and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and data-driven decision-making.

• Develop strategic partnerships and influencer marketing campaigns to expand brand reach and drive revenue.

Senior Leadership Team:

• Collaborate with the senior leadership team (CEO, COO, VP of People & Culture, VP/Controller) to drive strategic planning and performance measurements.

• Inspire trust and transparency within the organization through open communication and data-driven decision-making.

• Foster a positive work environment that encourages productivity, collaboration, and growth. • Effectively delegate tasks and build cross-functional relationships to drive impact across the organization.

• Navigate organizational challenges with flexibility, strategic problem-solving, and effective conflict management.

Other:

• Serve as a key advisor to the CEO, regularly reporting on growth, marketing impact, and key performance indicators.

• Lead and collaborate to help with forecast and projections.

• Travel as required, with a discretionary travel budget provided.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of executive leadership in sales, marketing, or revenue strategy, ideally within music, entertainment, retail, or e-commerce.

• Proven track record of scaling revenue and leading high-growth sales & marketing teams.

• Expertise in digital marketing, brand strategy, and data-driven growth initiatives.

• Strong negotiation, partnership development, and deal execution experience.

• Hands-on experience with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred), e-commerce, and performance analytics.

• Ability to travel as needed, with a discretionary budget provided.
