Employment Type: Full-Time

Industry: Semiconductor Construction / Cleanroom Install

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Finish Carpenter to support the construction and fit-out of cleanroom environments within a high-tech semiconductor facility in Manassas, VA. This hands-on role focuses on precision carpentry tasks including framing, blocking, architectural trim, door and hardware installation, and cleanroom-specific finish work. The ideal candidate will have experience working in contamination-sensitive environments such as semiconductor, biotech, or aerospace projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleanroom Carpentry & Framing:

  • Install metal or composite framing and blocking to support cleanroom wall systems, utilities, and equipment mounting.
  • Lay out and construct interior partitions, door frames, pass-throughs, and window openings to exact specifications.
  • Assemble and install prefabricated cleanroom wall and ceiling panels, ensuring proper alignment and fit.

Finish Work & Installation:

  • Perform detailed trim carpentry including baseboard, casing, corner guards, and wall protection systems to meet cleanroom standards.
  • Install doors, frames, and hardware in compliance with controlled environment requirements (airlocks, gowning rooms, interlocks, etc.).
  • Support integration of modular architectural systems including coving, cleanroom-rated cabinetry, and wall sealing components.

Jobsite Coordination & Support:

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and installation guides for cleanroom systems and finishes.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and cleanroom install teams to ensure proper sequencing and alignment of scope.
  • Assist in installing temporary or final supports, signage, or finish protection materials.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere strictly to contamination control procedures, PPE requirements, and gowning protocols when working in controlled spaces.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and follow site-specific procedures, including dust containment and material cleanliness standards.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and maintain clean, organized work areas in accordance with cleanroom construction best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial or high-tech finish carpentry — cleanroom, semiconductor, or life science project experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, blueprint reading, and finish installation techniques.
  • Understanding of cleanroom construction materials, sealing practices, and contamination control protocols.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders/lifts, and perform precise measurements in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with modular cleanroom systems (e.g., Portafab, AES, MECART, etc.)
  • OSHA 10 Construction certification
  • Familiarity with gowning requirements and cleanroom classifications (ISO 5–8)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holiday pay
  • Overtime opportunities based on project demands
  • On-the-job training and career advancement in cleanroom and critical environment construction

About the Project:

This position supports the delivery and expansion of a world-class semiconductor fabrication facility in Manassas, VA. As a Finish Carpenter, you will play a direct role in constructing precision cleanroom environments essential to microelectronics manufacturing — ensuring world-leading performance in safety, cleanliness, and quality.
