Position Overview

As Director of Buying, you will lead the end-to-end assortment strategy across eCommerce and Wholesale accounts. You will be responsible for curating a compelling, data-informed product offering that aligns with our brand identity and drives topline results. This role requires a balance of creative intuition and analytical rigor, with a particular strength in navigating the dynamics of digital retail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the seasonal and in-season buying strategy across all channels: eCommerce & wholesale.
  • Build and manage assortments that align with brand vision, financial goals, and customer expectations.
  • Identify trends and opportunities using sales data, consumer insights, and competitive analysis.
  • Develop and own the Open-to-Buy process; manage inventory flow, track receipts, and identify risk/opportunity.
  • Collaborate with Design and Product Development to ensure consumer relevance and commercial viability of collections.
  • Drive digital-first thinking in assortment planning, ensuring eCommerce receives priority product flow and exclusives where relevant.
  • Analyze sales performance to optimize assortments, reorders, and markdown strategies.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Planning on promotional strategies to drive sales and maximize margin.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Wholesale, and eComm teams to ensure cohesive product storytelling across channels.
  • Collaborate with Logistics and Operations to ensure timely and accurate product flow.
  • Drive data integrity across systems and reports; maintain accurate inventory and sales files.
  • Lead and develop a high performing team.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in fashion buying, with multi-channel experience (eComm + retail required).
  • Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of merchandising KPIs, OTB, and profitability metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful assortments across categories and channels.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth fashion environment.
  • Passionate about product, trend-savvy, and customer-obsessed.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field preferred.
