Delta Fuel Company is seeking an Accountant for our corporate office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including reconciliations, budget variance reports, and general account analysis.
• Reconcile multiple bank accounts
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns per state requirements
• Prepare multiple reports needed for monthly ledger entries
• Responsible for month-end close activities related to expenditure accruals, inter-company accounting, revenue accounting, and other areas as needed
• Support periodic audit efforts with internal and external auditors.
• Identifying new processes and reviewing existing ones to create a more efficient workflow and insuring controls for processes are accurate and compliant.
• Leveraging technology to automate processes and procedures surrounding financial reporting and analysis and assuming ownership of special projects to develop and implement improvements in current processes and systems.
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field
• 5+ years of experience in accounting
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to details
• Strong accounting, analytical and computer skills
• Strong organization skills and ability to multitask
